The Secret Life of an American Teenager's midseason finale on Tuesday night delivered 4.5 million total viewers, setting a series high in that measure, as well as in the 18-49 demo. The closer represents ABC Family's most-watched original series telecast ever. Naming names (if not talking utter smack), the cabler also notes that the finale's audience — as well as its performance in several key demos — was better than that of any episode of the super-trendy Gossip Girl. Olympian Shawn Johnson Gets a Secret Life | Today's News: Our Take | 9/4/2008
Olympic gold-medal winning gymnast Shawn Johnson will guest-star on the mid-season finale of ABC Family's The Secret Life of the American Teenager.Playing herself, Johnson, 16, will get a chance to flirt with "Ricky" in the school hallway, says the network. The episode, titled "Just Say No," was directed by original 90210 alum, Jason Priestley. Johnson's appearance was announced shortly after Olympian Misty May-Treanor was cast on Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place.
