If the season opener of CSI is any indication—CBS gave critics screeners of the episode this week—William Petersen is going to get quite the emotional workout in his final 10 episodes as a series regular. He gives one of his strongest performances to date as he grapples with the aftermath of the climactic shooting of Warrick (Gary Dourdan) in last season’s cliffhanger shocker. Q: I just wanted to thank you for being blunt but honest about the odds of Moonlight being renewed. The fandom has kind of gone nuts, and it feels like people are being lied to and fed false information to boost the egos of a few fans who get off on the attention and adulation of an eager fandom. I don't really buy the DirecTV info, and can't see any reason why they would put any stock into an online poll at all, let alone one on a fanboard. Q: You've said that once a show is canceled, it is pretty much gone. Is it your opinion/educated guess that we (and I know you must be sick of questions about this) should give up on seeing Moonlight picked up and new episodes produced? There was talk that CW was considering doing it. They didn't. Then last weekend at a rally in LA, one of the show producers mentioned the Sci Fi Channel being a possibility. Q: Mike, you've missed some serious Moonlight grieving, especially from me. Please tell me there is some truth to the rumors that the Sci Fi channel may be interested in picking up Moonlight.
