A tame sex comedy that's neither sexy nor funny, THE GIFT concerns Gregoire (Pierre Mondy), a middle-aged banker getting ready to take an early retirement when in walks Barbara (Clio Goldsmith), a sultry young dream girl. Unknown to Gregoire, she is actually a prostitute who has been sent
to the banker by his devilish coworkers. The pair runs off to Venice for a sexual adventure, with Gregoire hardly thinking of his wife (Claudia Cardinale). At best, THE GIFT is a mindless diversion that at least features Cardinale; otherwise, there is little interesting here. The videocassette is
