Ex-GI Stanton, a would-be crooner, meets up with singing New Yorker Merrick in a southern bar, and the two decide to pose as a hick couple in order to get a job with Hall, promoting his Dixie brand of coffee. When the girl's assumed name coincides with that of a long lost plantation
heiress, Stanton and Merrick disappear to the bar where they first met, fearing exposure and legal action in the near future. After a few drinks, the two decide to make a second stab at show-biz as a legitimate vocal duo. Rather delightful Dixie comedy with Merrick and Stanton doing a fine job as
a romantic, but problem-laden couple.
