Sex, drugs, murder and the biggest porn star of the '70s: James Cox's dazzlingly sleazy 2003 true-crime picture has it all. Set in 1981, it dramatizes three conflicting versions of the grisly "four on the floor" killings at L.A.'s 8763 Wonderland Avenue, but the main attraction is Val Kilmer's mercurial performance as passed-his-prime sex star John Holmes, who's variously depicted as sweet but dim, a selfish creep and a treacherous junkie. Friends star Lisa Kudrow shines as Holmes' long-suffering wife in this cautionary tale of addiction, selfishness, greed and self-destruction in the sun.

Sing, Muse, of the troubled realm of Darkon, and how brave Bannor of Laconia dared challenge Keldar, the duplicitous leader of the Mordomian Empire. In reality, Darkon is no more real than Tolkein’s Mordor or Camelot of Arthurian legend, but to the role-players featured in this endearing and unexpectedly poignant documentary from Luke Meyer and Andrew Neel, the embattled kingdom -- which lies somewhere outside of Baltimore -- is a place worth fighting for.

Flawed for sure, but a heck of a lot of fun. Screenwriter Robert Towne (Chinatown, Shampoo) directed this glamorously trashy tale of two childhood friends who wind up on opposite sides of the law and the girl who gets caught between them. Kurt Russell's the cop, Mel Gibson is the wealthy cocaine dealer and a radiant Michelle Pfeiffer is the girl. The talk is good and everyone looks great: Conrad Hall received an Oscar nomination for his shimmering cinematography.
10 pm/ET SUND
Lian Lunson's adoring documentary about the legendary Canadian singer is mostly a concert film, shot in January 2005 at the Sydney Opera House during a specially organized tribute concert. Lunson intercuts interviews with the ordinarily very private Cohen — still dashing and impeccably dressed at 72 — and those whom he's inspired, including Bono, Nick Cave and Rufus Wainwright (all of whom perform Cohen's songs), but what emerges is less a portrait than a testament to the influence he's exerted over his 40-year career.
12 am/ET TNT
Crisply stylish and suspenseful, and one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's best. Director John McTiernan (Die Hard) nimbly sustains suspense throughout this tale of a special-forces platoon assigned to locate an unnamed and very dangerous menace lurking in the jungles of Central America.
