Entourage Episode Recap: "ReDOMption"

Studio chief and Vincent Chase nemesis Alan Gray rather prophetically foreshadowed his own demise at the beginning of tonight's episode. Describing a Ramones script still being shopped around by Martin Landau's still-spry Bob Ryan, he noted "Nothing's ever dead in this town." Well, 18 holes later, Alan was the exception to the rule.

While Ari was busy trying to resuscitate Vince's film career on the golf course (with a foursome that included golf great Phil Mickelson), Vince and Eric were busy keeping an eye on their long-lost, allegedly-rehabilitated friend Dom (Domenick Lombardozzi). A police chase gone wildly awry ended with Dom's incarceration and an ever-trusting Vince persuaded Eric to put up his bail money. Shockingly, Dom's story about his blissful domestic situation turned out to be true, but Vince's advice to tell the truth did not work out as planned. However, Vince's influence did prove helpful for Eric's client Charlie (Shad Moss, a.k.a. Bow Wow) who landed a pilot thanks in part to Vince's offer to guest-star.

Meanwhile, providing comic relief as usual, a cash-strapped Turtle convinced Johnny (with a little help from Vince) to give him a shot as an assistant. Not surprisingly, Johnny proved to be a high maintenance client with demands ranging from opening car doors to very specific raisins on his cereal. At the end of the day, Turtle acquitted himself nicely, getting the job done before telling Johnny where to go.

The end of the episode took a bittersweet turn as the guys learned about Alan's death and a shaken Ari realized the fragility of life. He even gave the usual insults a rest, telling Eric to "Be well," A kinder, gentler Ari? It'll never last.
